I Don’t Have Cancer, Just a Scare — Mercy Johnson-Okojie Clears the Air
Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie has addressed growing speculation about her health, firmly clarifying that she was never diagnosed with cancer.
In a video shared across social media, the actress explained that a clip from her cooking show, Mercy’s Menu, was taken out of context and led to widespread misinformation.
Mercy revealed that she once had a cancer scare due to a swelling in her neck, which raised concerns among her doctors who were monitoring a thyroid issue at the time. However, further tests showed it was not cancerous.
“Thank you so much to all of you who have been calling and sending messages and prayers. But I do not have cancer,” she said. “The clip flying around was cut out from my show. I said I had a cancer scare — meaning my doctors feared something serious, but I’m fine.”
The mother of four recalled undergoing thyroid surgery during the scare while caring for her youngest child, who was just six months old at the time.
Mercy Johnson-Okojie expressed heartfelt gratitude to her fans for their concern and support, reassuring them that she is healthy and well.
“I’m perfectly fine, and there is no cause for alarm,” she added. “The clip was completely misunderstood.”
