Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has stressed the importance of establishing clear boundaries with female colleagues before filming intimate scenes in movies.

Speaking in an interview with BBC News Igbo, the actor said he always discusses comfort levels with actresses before shooting such scenes to ensure mutual understanding and professionalism on set.

According to Arukwe, the discussions help prevent discomfort and maintain respect between actors while filming.

“I always discuss boundaries with any female colleague I’m asked to act with. I make sure we talk about what is acceptable before we start filming. I avoid touching areas that could make the actress or her partner uncomfortable. I am a married man,” he said.

Arukwe, who gained wide recognition for his role as Odogwu Paranran in Love in Every Word by Omoni Oboli, also dismissed rumours linking him romantically with some of his colleagues.

He said the speculation is unfounded, stressing that what viewers see on screen is strictly part of his professional work.

“The rumours about me and different women are not true. What people see in movies is just part of my work,” he said.

The actor added that his portrayal of the Odogwu character significantly boosted his career, noting that the role opened new opportunities and increased public recognition.
