“I’m Done Keeping Quiet” — Shimite Love’s Husband Speaks Out on Her Death, Allegations Against Him
Pastor David Favour Love, husband of the late Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Trade and Export, Shimite Love, has broken his silence following her tragic death and the swirling allegations linking him to it.
Shimite, 48, passed away in the early hours of Monday, April 21, 2025. While no official cause of death has been confirmed, public speculation and reports have alleged domestic violence may have played a role.
The spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed that the deceased’s family filed a complaint accusing David Love of possible involvement in her death. As a result, he was taken into protective custody after informing authorities that he was being threatened by members of Shimite’s family.
According to the police, Pastor Love maintained that Shimite fell ill before her passing.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, May 20, Pastor Love mourned his wife in an emotional series of posts, calling her his “personal and special Angel.” He also stated he would no longer remain silent amid what he described as false narratives about her death.
“I’m done keeping quiet! I will release all the proofs that led to your death to those who want to expose evil and share the truth,” he wrote.
The pastor further alleged that Shimite’s relatives broke into their home and stole their marriage certificate and other valuables. He also claimed that a registrar in Abuja confessed that her office had been pressured by the family to deny the legality of their marriage.
“They want to bury you and paint the Delta State government as lawless,” he alleged. “But the world shall know the whole truth. There are proofs in black and white.”
Expressing his grief, Pastor Love added: “I can’t say goodbye, my precious wife and heartbeat. This is too much for me. I love you for life, and you forever have a place in my heart.”
The police investigation into Shimite Love’s death remains ongoing.
