“I’m Not Done Yet” — Kamala Harris Hints at Possible Future Presidential Run

Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has suggested she may make another bid for the White House in the future, declaring that her political journey is far from over.

“I am not done,” Harris told the BBC in an interview published on Saturday, adding that she could “possibly” still become president one day her strongest indication yet of renewed political ambitions.

Harris, who lost the 2024 presidential election to Donald Trump after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race just 107 days before Election Day, has remained active in public life since leaving office.

In her memoir, 107 Days, the former vice president appeared to distance herself from seeking high office again, writing that she wanted to focus on reconnecting with communities rather than “sit in DC in the grandeur of the ceremonial office.”

However, her latest comments suggest a shift in tone. Harris expressed optimism that her young nieces would see a woman elected president “within their lifetime for sure.” When asked if that woman could be her, she responded, “Possibly.”

Addressing her standing in future Democratic primaries, Harris dismissed polling data that places her as an outsider. “There are all kinds of polls that will tell you a variety of things. I’ve never listened to polls,” she said.

In 107 Days, Harris also reflected on President Biden’s abrupt decision to suspend his re-election campaign and endorse her, calling it an act of “recklessness.” She wrote that the stakes in 2024 were “too high” to leave to personal decisions alone.

The book further detailed her search for a running mate, including considerations of prominent Democrats such as Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg all of whom she ultimately passed over.

Harris’s latest remarks have reignited speculation about her political future, signaling that her ambitions for public service and possibly the presidency are not yet over.
