Indonesia, EU Aim to Seal Free Trade Deal This June
Indonesia and the European Union are set to conclude long-running negotiations on a free trade agreement by the end of June 2025, after nearly a decade of discussions.
Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, met with EU Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič in Brussels on June 6 to advance talks. The two sides are pushing to finalize the pact, which promises major economic and strategic benefits.
The deal is expected to boost trade, enhance market access, and strengthen cooperation between Southeast Asia’s largest economy and one of the world’s biggest trading blocs.
