The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the voter register will be displayed on a quarterly basis for public scrutiny in Bauchi State.

This move is aimed at allowing citizens to file claims, raise objections, and request corrections—ensuring that only eligible voters appear on the final register.

INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in Bauchi, Mohammed Nura Ibrahim, emphasized the Commission’s zero-tolerance stance on electoral fraud.

He warned against multiple registrations, underage or proxy registrations, illegal collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and any attempts to obstruct INEC officials in the course of their duties. Violators, he said, would face strict penalties as outlined in the Electoral Act 2022.

“I call on all eligible Nigerians in Bauchi State to take full advantage of this opportunity,” Ibrahim said. “Please register, update your records where necessary, and collect your PVCs.

The Commission remains fully committed to ensuring a free, fair, transparent, and inclusive voter registration process.”
