Innoson Partners with Federal Government to Boost CNG Vehicle Production
Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd. has announced a partnership with the Federal Government to expand the production and distribution of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles across Nigeria. The collaboration was confirmed by Mr. Innocent Chukwuma, the Managing Director and CEO of Innoson, following his meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday.
Chukwuma highlighted that Innoson began producing CNG vehicles two years ago, well before the Federal Government embraced the initiative. He expressed confidence that the partnership would soon result in widespread availability of CNG-powered Innoson vehicles on Nigerian roads, emphasizing the environmental and economic benefits of transitioning to CNG.
“I was the first to start CNG vehicle production in Nigeria. My visit today focused on this initiative, and in a short time, the masses will see CNG buses on our roads,” Chukwuma stated. He praised the government’s commitment to the CNG initiative, describing it as a forward-thinking approach that aligns with his company’s vision for the country.
Chukwuma also took the opportunity to express his support for President Tinubu, urging Nigerians to remain patient as the administration works to improve the nation’s economy and infrastructure. “Let everyone calm down and give him a chance. We will see a better Nigeria under President Tinubu’s leadership,” he encouraged.
The partnership between Innoson and the Federal Government is expected to accelerate the adoption of CNG vehicles, contributing to Nigeria’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and enhance energy efficiency.
