Israeli Airstrike on Gaza School Kills 15 Children, 8 Women

An Israeli airstrike on the Khadija School in Deir al Balah, central Gaza, has resulted in the deaths of at least 31 Palestinians, including 15 children and 8 women, according to the Gaza government’s media office. The school, which was also serving as a field hospital, was struck by three missiles on Saturday, injuring an additional 100 people.

The Israeli military acknowledged targeting the school, claiming it housed a Hamas command center, as stated by army spokesperson Avichay Adraee. Hamas condemned the attack, emphasizing that the facility was sheltering displaced civilians, primarily women and children.

The incident has drawn sharp criticism from international organizations and governments, especially as the Israeli military had previously designated such areas as humanitarian zones, urging Palestinians to seek refuge there.
