Iyabo Alleges Threat Behind Fire Outbreak, Vows to Expose Perpetrators
Nollywood actress and activist Iyabo Ojo has revealed that a recent fire incident at her mother’s office may have been a targeted attack linked to earlier threats against her upcoming project, JP2025.
Taking to Instagram, Iyabo confirmed that the office, which was engulfed in flames on July 8, had previously received a threatening letter on May 24. The letter, she said, was intended to intimidate her family and derail her plans.
“Sadly, on the 24th of May, this letter was delivered to my mother’s office—the same one that was engulfed in fire yesterday,” she wrote. “Strictly speaking, it was a threat to life and a strategy to ruin JP2025.”
According to Iyabo, her mother was traveling to Tanzania for Iyabo’s wedding at the time and only read the letter upon her return. The note reportedly warned that the family would be monitored over the next three months.
She described the fire as “PLAN B” by those whose earlier attempt to sabotage her efforts had failed.
Iyabo pledged to work with law enforcement and use CCTV footage to identify the person who delivered the letter. “We shall eventually detect the face of the delivery agent and show the public and the police at the right time,” she wrote, noting that additional surveillance cameras have now been installed at her mother’s office and home.
Despite the threats, she reaffirmed her family’s resilience:
“You can’t silence my mother with all of these threats and criminal acts. God is stronger than any evil, and time will surely tell!!”
Earlier, Iyabo had thanked the Nigerian Fire Service and on-site staff for their swift response, which helped minimize the damage caused by the fire. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
