Iyabo Ojo Addresses Allegations Over Mohbad WhatsApp Group
Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has broken her silence following allegations by social media activist Verydarkman (VDM) that she created a secret WhatsApp group related to the controversial death of late singer Mohbad.
In a now-viral video, Verydarkman accused Iyabo of forming the group alongside fellow celebrities including Tonto Dikeh, Jigan, Samklef, and Davido’s PR manager, Dre DMW, 14 days after Mohbad’s passing.
Reacting to the claims, Iyabo Ojo confirmed the existence of the group but clarified that it was never intended to manipulate public opinion or obstruct justice in Mohbad’s case. Instead, she said, the group was created to coordinate efforts, share verified information, and demand justice for the late singer.
According to her, the group aimed to consolidate voices within the entertainment industry and ensure that the investigation into Mohbad’s untimely death remained active in public discourse.
Her statement has since sparked mixed reactions online. While some Nigerians commended her for transparency and advocacy, others questioned the secrecy behind the group and the timing of its formation.
