JAMB Rules Out UTME Registration Extension Beyond March 8

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirmed that there will be no extension of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration beyond March 8.

JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, made this clear in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, emphasizing that the registration period, which began on Feb. 3, will close as scheduled.

“This deadline has been clearly communicated in all advertisements and the official calendar for the 2025 UTME exercise. There will be no extension of the registration period,” Benjamin stated.

He noted a recent decline in registration numbers and urged prospective candidates to register promptly rather than waiting until the last minute.

So far, over 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered, aligning with JAMB’s projections for the 2025 examination cycle.

Benjamin also highlighted that the Board’s schedule is fixed, with post-registration activities such as examinations, results processing, and admissions, all of which are coordinated with other agencies. Extending the registration period, he warned, would disrupt these processes.

Candidates are therefore advised to complete their registration as soon as possible to meet the deadline.
