Judy Austin Urges Fans to Stop Toxic Defences, Rejects Death Wishes Against Critics
Nollywood actress Judy Austin has cautioned her fans and supporters against engaging in toxic behaviour on social media, particularly posts that wish death or harm on people in her defence.
The actress made her position known in a message shared online, where she expressed concern over the extreme comments often made by some of her supporters while standing up for her. According to Austin, such actions do not reflect her values or the kind of person she is.
She described the act of wishing death on others—even in the name of loyalty or support—as evil, stressing that she does not endorse or appreciate that form of defence. The actress appealed to her fans to tone down their reactions and refrain from crossing moral boundaries when responding to critics.
Austin noted that while she understands the urge to protect someone you admire, doing so through hateful or violent language only fuels negativity and misrepresents those being defended.
Her statement has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans applauding her for speaking out against toxic fandom, while others debated the role celebrities should play in controlling their supporters’ conduct on social media.
Judy Austin concluded by urging her followers to choose kindness and restraint, emphasising that genuine support should never come at the cost of humanity or goodwill.
