Juma Jux: Convincing Priscilla Ojo to Embrace Islam Was Challenging

Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has revealed that convincing his wife, Priscilla Ojo, daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, to convert to Islam ahead of their wedding was not an easy journey.

Speaking in an interview with Afrikmedia, the music star opened up about the emotional and spiritual process the couple underwent before tying the knot. He explained that while he had envisioned the kind of wedding he wanted, helping Priscilla understand and accept the Islamic faith required time, patience, and the guidance of religious mentors.

“It was a little bit difficult convincing her, but I was receiving lessons from religious leaders and people who are keen about Islam,” Jux said. “They told me there was a way I could convince my wife to join the religion — to take it slowly, teach her gently, and guide her step by step. Although it took time, she eventually understood.”

Jux also reflected on how he first met Priscilla, noting that he was drawn to her laughter and energy, which later blossomed into a relationship marked by shared values and mutual respect.
