The Kalthum Foundation for Peace (KFP) has reaffirmed its support for the Nigerian military, pledging continued collaboration in the fight against insurgency during a courtesy visit to the Theatre Commander of Operation LAFIA DOLE, Major General AE Abdulsalam, earlier today.

The 10-member delegation was led by Dr. MS Abubakar, while KFP Chairperson, Ms. Ummu Kalthum Rabiu, praised the Nigerian Army for its dedication to kinetic operations. She also extended condolences over the recent loss of personnel in a village near Bama.

Dr. Abubakar commended the gallantry and resilience of the troops, urging them to remain steadfast despite criticisms. “Calls for the removal of service chiefs by a vocal minority are unproductive,” he said. “Insurgency is a complex issue rooted in exclusion, poverty, bad governance, and other structural causes that cannot be solved by guns and bullets alone.”

While acknowledging existing lapses and challenges, he stressed that authorities are working to address them, warning that hasty demands for leadership changes would not resolve the security crisis.

Responding, Major General Abdulsalam lauded KFP for its consistent support, noting the foundation’s credibility as a partner in counterinsurgency efforts. “Your organization is a credible NGO that we have collaborated with in counterinsurgency operations. Our doors are open for further partnership,” he said.

The visit reinforced the resolve of both parties to deepen cooperation in advancing peace and stability in the troubled region.
