The Kano State Government has declared Friday, September 12, a public holiday to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
According to a statement issued on Thursday in Kano by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the holiday marks the Maulud celebration, which falls on 19th Rabi’ul Awwal 1447 AH.
Waiya called on civil servants, private sector workers, and the general public to observe the holiday peacefully and in line with the Prophet’s teachings.
He urged citizens to reflect on unity, tolerance, and obedience, while also offering prayers for peace and progress in the state and the nation at large.
The state government extended warm felicitations to the people of Kano, wishing them a peaceful and joyous Maulud celebration.
