The management of Kano Pillars FC has suspended the club’s Technical Adviser, Usman Abdallah, for three weeks following the team’s poor performance and his conduct towards fans.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Kano, the club’s chairman, Ali Umar, confirmed the suspension, citing Abdallah’s actions after the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 22 goalless draw against Bayelsa United at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

“The management took the decision following Abdallah’s inappropriate gesture towards supporters,” the statement read.

The club also highlighted the team’s inconsistency in recent matches, noting that Abdallah had managed just one win in their last three outings. “This dip in form has raised concerns in the management and supporters, who expect a high level of performance from the team,” the statement added.

During Abdallah’s suspension, Chief Coach Ahmed Yaro-Yaro will take charge, assisted by Abubakar Musa, Gambo Muhammad, Suleiman Shuaibu, and Ayuba Musa.

Kano Pillars reaffirmed their commitment to professionalism and maintaining a strong relationship with their passionate supporters. The team will now focus on their NPFL Matchday 23 clash against Remo Stars in Ikenne, Ogun State, where they hope to regain form and restore fan confidence.

Abdallah, who signed a two-year contract with the club in August 2024, had an option for a third year.
