A magistrate court in the Nomansland area of Kano State has ordered the remand of a popular TikToker, Umar Hisham Fagge, known online as Tsulange, over allegations of public indecency.

Presiding Magistrate Hadiza Muhammad Hassan directed that Fagge be held at a correctional facility until July 3, 2025, pending further investigation into the incident.

The Kano State Censorship Board arraigned the content creator after he filmed a comedy skit in which he was seen bathing on a public street while dressed in women’s innerwear. The video, which went viral on social media, sparked outrage from segments of the public.

In a statement, the Board’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, said the act was offensive to public morals and violated the cultural and Islamic values of the state. He described it as part of a disturbing trend of social media content that disregards societal norms.

The Board also warned that it would continue to monitor and prosecute individuals who promote what it described as “disruptive entertainment under the guise of humor.”
