Kwara Police Arrest Medical Doctor Over Alleged Links to Kidnapping Syndicate

Security operatives in Kwara State have arrested a medical doctor suspected of supplying drugs to kidnapping gangs operating across parts of the state.

According to Leadership, the doctor was intercepted in Jebba, Moro Local Government Area, after intelligence reports linked him to the activities of criminal groups and their couriers. He was allegedly transporting medical supplies from Sokoto to support the operations of the kidnappers.

Sources revealed that the gangs have recently intensified their search for medical treatment, especially for members who sustained gunshot injuries during clashes with security forces.

“We are advising heightened security in health facilities located in densely forested areas, as kidnappers may attempt to target such centres for medical assistance,” the source added.

Investigations are ongoing.
