Lagos Nabs Four for Illegal Waste Dumping Along Ayobo-Ipaja Road
The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), through its Waste Infractions Surveillance and Investigation Team, has arrested four individuals for illegally dumping refuse at an unauthorised site along Ayobo-Ipaja Road.
The arrests were made on December 4, 2025, during a routine enforcement operation aimed at curbing environmental pollution and improving sanitation across the state.
The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed the development via his social media handle, noting that the suspects have been handed over to the LAWMA legal unit for prosecution at the Oshodi Mobile Court.
According to him, those apprehended are Okoro Stella, 50; Abraham Oluwalogbin, 25; Nwakego Chiyenre, 48; and Ofili Tolulope, 19.
Wahab reiterated the state government’s commitment to enforcing environmental laws and urged residents to make use of authorised waste disposal facilities to keep Lagos clean.
