OurNigeria News Magazine has nominated H.E. Sheikh Al-Moustapha Kouyateh, Ambassador-at-Large for Special Duties and Special Presidential Envoy of the Republic of Liberia, for the Pan-African Diplomatic Excellence Award at the 7th OurNigeria News Awards, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to diplomacy, peace-building and strategic engagement across Africa.
The prestigious nomination was formally acknowledged by Ambassador Kouyateh in a letter dated January 8, 2026, addressed to the Editor-in-Chief of OurNigeria News, Om’Oba Jerry Adesewo.
In the letter, the Liberian diplomat expressed deep appreciation for the honour, describing it as a meaningful recognition of his work in advancing diplomacy, peace-building and strategic engagement across the African continent. He also conveyed his gratitude to the management and editorial board of OurNigeria News for what he called their “thoughtful consideration” .
The 7th OurNigeria News Awards is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 31st January 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel, and is expected to attract top government officials, diplomats, policy makers and influential personalities from across Africa and beyond.
Ambassador Kouyateh further confirmed his availability to attend the award ceremony and disclosed that he had forwarded the requested documents, including his official photograph and brief profile, to the organisers to facilitate preparations for the event .
Serving as Ambassador-at-Large for Special Duties and Special Presidential Envoy in the Office of the President, Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, Republic of Liberia, Sheikh Al-Moustapha Kouyateh is widely regarded as a key figure in Liberia’s diplomatic outreach and continental engagement.
His nomination for the Pan-African Diplomatic Excellence Award underscores his growing stature in African diplomacy and highlights OurNigeria News’ commitment to celebrating individuals whose work promotes peace, cooperation and development across the continent.
