Man City Seal £46.3m Deal for AC Milan’s Reijnders
Manchester City have reached an agreement with AC Milan to sign Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders in a deal worth £46.3 million (€55 million).
The 25-year-old Netherlands international is expected to pen a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, personal terms have already been agreed and only final details remain before the deal is officially completed.
Reijnders enjoyed a standout season with Milan, scoring 15 goals and providing five assists in 54 appearances across all competitions. His performances earned him the Serie A Midfielder of the Season award, despite the club finishing eighth in the league.
City are also continuing talks with Wolves over a potential move for £40m-rated left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri. The 23-year-old has been on the club’s radar for the past year as Pep Guardiola looks to bolster his defensive options ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.
In addition, the Premier League champions remain interested in Lyon’s Rayan Cherki. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder, valued at around £35m, scored 12 goals in 44 games last season, including a brace against Manchester United in the Europa League.
Cherki was part of France’s U23 squad that won silver at the last Olympic Games and has recently received his first senior national team call-up. He could make his international debut in the UEFA Nations League semi-final against Spain on Thursday.
