Isak Andic, the founder and non-executive chairman of Spanish fashion giant Mango, has died unexpectedly in an accident, the company announced on Saturday.

“It is with deep regret that we announce the unexpected death of Isak Andic, our non-executive chairman and founder of Mango,” said Chief Executive Toni Ruiz in a statement.

Andic, who founded Mango in Barcelona in 1984, was instrumental in transforming the company into one of Europe’s leading fashion retailers. The brand boasts nearly 2,800 stores across the globe and recorded a turnover of €3.1 billion in 2023, with 33% of its revenue generated from online sales. Mango currently operates in over 120 markets.
