A married special education teacher in Mississippi has been arrested after allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a teenage student, including kissing him in public places.

Natalia Elizabeth Wright, 31, resigned from her role at Lewisburg High School in DeSoto County on April 3, following allegations of misconduct. Weeks later, she was reportedly seen “kissing and making out” with the 18-year-old student in a Taco Bell parking lot, and later outside a Baptist church the same day.

According to an affidavit filed by the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office, Wright was accused of committing acts driven by “licentious sexual desires” with a child under the age of 18.

She was eventually arrested after her husband recorded her confession, in which she admitted to kissing the student multiple times during tutoring sessions at his home.

Wright has been charged with fondling by a person in a position of trust—a felony under Mississippi law. The affidavit further alleges that she “willfully, unlawfully, and feloniously … handle[d] or touch[ed] with her mouth … a child under 18 years of age.”

Court records show she was released on a $200,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 6. The DeSoto County School District has not yet commented on the case.

This incident follows a separate case last month in which another female teacher was charged in Florida after allegedly maintaining a sexual relationship with a student, supported by photo evidence provided to law enforcement.
