Nollywood actress Mary Njoku has condemned the alleged mistreatment of Comfort Emmanson, the female passenger removed from an Ibom Air flight, calling it a gross violation of her dignity.

In a post on her Instagram page on Tuesday, Njoku said she had no problem with the airline offloading a passenger if necessary but strongly criticized the reported act of stripping her and sharing the footage online.

“I understand removing her from the plane, that’s not the issue.

“What I cannot understand is stripping her while doing so and then putting it all over the internet,” she stated.

The actress noted that airline and airport staff are trained professionals and should not engage in such acts.

“I refuse to believe that dehumanizing someone, stripping a woman naked, and broadcasting it online is part of that training, no matter what crime she may have committed,” Njoku said.

She further stressed that Emmanson deserves compensation for the “damage done to her life and dignity.”
