Medvedev Threatens Kyiv After Zelensky Warns Ukraine Can’t Control Strikes on Russia

Russian Security Council Deputy Secretary Dmitry Medvedev has issued a veiled threat against Ukraine’s capital in response to remarks made by President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier this month.

Zelensky told international dignitaries that Ukraine “cannot be responsible for what happens on the territory of the Russian Federation,” suggesting that cross-border attacks could occur outside Kyiv’s control.

Medvedev, writing on his Telegram account over the weekend, dismissed Zelensky’s comment as a “verbal provocation” but warned that if such provocations were realized, “nobody will guarantee the dawn of May 10 in Kyiv.” The ominous statement underscores rising tensions between the two countries as the war continues to escalate.
