A military helicopter crash in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, claimed the lives of three foreign crew members on Wednesday. The crash, which occurred near N’Dolo Airport in the Barumbu area, killed the pilot, co-pilot, and a technician. Authorities have not yet disclosed their identities or nationalities.
Emergency responders arrived promptly to extinguish the fire sparked by the crash, which took place as the helicopter attempted to land at the airport, primarily serving light aircraft and located close to the Funa River.
The cause of the crash remains unknown, and authorities have launched an investigation to uncover the details behind the accident.
This incident follows another aviation incident on Tuesday when a military drone reportedly operated by the M23 rebel group crashed in North Kivu province in eastern Congo.
