Miss Chidinma Adetshina Claims Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 Crown After Miss South Africa Rejection
Nigerian beauty queen, Miss Chidinma Adetshina, has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 during the grand finale of the pageant held in Lagos on Saturday, August 31.
Despite recent controversy surrounding her dual nationality, the 23-year-old law student overcame the challenges and outperformed four other finalists to secure the prestigious title.
Representing Taraba State, Chidinma excelled in the competition, which saw 24 contestants compete in a series of rounds that tested both their beauty and intellect. She made it to the final five alongside Miss Rivers, Nyekachi Douglas; Miss Anambra, Paula Ezendu; Miss Edo, Edeifo Brittany; and Miss Ondo, Ayegbidun Peace Olamide.
After intense scrutiny from the judges, Chidinma emerged victorious, with Miss Anambra taking the first runner-up position. Miss Ondo, Ayegbidun Peace Olamide, was named Miss Lush and secured the second runner-up spot.
Chidinma’s triumph comes shortly after she publicly shared her struggles with identity crises caused by her dual citizenship. In a recent interview on Cool FM with former Big Brother Naija star Tacha, she revealed that her journey was marked by emotional challenges, including nights of tears over the controversy surrounding her nationality.
Her crowning follows her disqualification from the Miss South Africa competition, where the South African Home Office accused her mother of fraud and identity theft, fueling the controversy surrounding her participation in international pageants.
