Mob Kills Suspected Motorcycle Thief in Makurdi
A suspected motorcycle thief was lynched and set ablaze by a mob in the early hours of Tuesday, September 2, 2025, near the Railway Quarters in Makurdi, Benue State.
Eyewitnesses say the suspect allegedly attempted to steal a commercial motorcycle when the owner raised an alarm. Residents in the area reportedly gave chase, apprehended the suspect, and beat him severely before setting him on fire.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies have not issued an official statement. It is also unclear whether any arrests have been made in connection with the killing.
