The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Logistics Command in Lagos undertook its quarterly 10km march on Saturday, aiming to boost physical fitness and camaraderie among personnel.
According to Air Officer Commanding (AOC), AVM Adeniran Ademuwagun, the exercise was part of a NAF Headquarters initiative, implemented across all NAF formations nationwide. Ademuwagun noted that the march simulated a real 10km course, with plans for an exact 10km route in future exercises.
Reflecting on participants’ stamina, he added, “If you feel exhausted and sleepy post-march, there’s more work ahead for your fitness. But if you’re able to continue with your activities afterward, you’re on track.”
The event saw National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members joining in, providing them insight into the fitness routines integral to military life. Ademuwagun expressed gratitude to the NYSC members, the band, and the medical unit, noting the exercise concluded without incident.
The AOC shared intentions to expand the route for the upcoming January march, encouraging children in the barracks to watch and aspire to partake in future exercises.
