NAF Destroys Four Terrorists’ Gun Trucks in Sambisa Forest During Precision Air Strike
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has destroyed four gun trucks and several logistics assets belonging to terrorists in the Sambisa Forest area of Borno State, Nigeria during a precision air interdiction operation.
The strike, carried out by the Air Component of the Joint Task Force North East under Operation Hadin Kai, targeted hostile elements operating in the Sambisa general area. The operation disrupted terrorists’ mobility and highlighted the impact of intelligence-driven air power in ongoing counter-terrorism efforts across the North-east.
In a statement, the Director of Public Relations and Information of the NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the strike followed credible intelligence and sustained aerial surveillance in the area. He added that the operation demonstrates the Air Force’s commitment to denying terrorist groups the ability to move freely or coordinate attacks.
Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, Chief of the Air Staff, reaffirmed the NAF’s resolve to apply decisive air power in support of Operation Hadin Kai, reinforcing efforts to consolidate operational gains and enhance security in the region.
To strengthen operational readiness, Air Vice Marshal P. N. Amadi, Chief of Operations at NAF Headquarters, visited NAF Base Maiduguri on March 11, 2026. The visit included assessments of the operational environment, base defence capabilities, and readiness to sustain high-tempo joint operations.
During the engagement, briefings from the Air Component and the 105 Composite Group highlighted the base’s preparedness and resilience in executing missions. Amadi also visited the Headquarters of the Theatre Command for Operation Hadin Kai to reinforce coordination between air and ground forces in pursuit of lasting security outcomes.
Earlier, Air Vice Marshal M. C. Ekwueme, Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command, visited NAF Base Maiduguri to boost personnel morale and reaffirm the Air Force’s commitment to operational excellence.
The NAF said the series of high-level engagements reflects its proactive posture and continued dedication to supporting joint operations aimed at restoring peace and stability in the North-east.
