The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a public alert regarding the circulation of counterfeit Noristerat Injection 200mg in Nigeria.
In a statement released on Monday, NAFDAC disclosed that Chlorpheniramine and Dexamethasone injection ampoules were mislabelled and repackaged as Noristerat Injection 200mg. The counterfeit product has been discovered in Niger, Bauchi, and Kano States, particularly at the Coordinated Wholesale Centre (CWC) in Kano.

NAFDAC confirmed that the counterfeiter has been tracked and arrested for further investigation and regulatory enforcement.
Public Safety Advisory
The agency urged importers, distributors, retailers, and healthcare professionals to be vigilant in detecting falsified products within the supply chain. It also advised the public to only purchase medical products from authorized and licensed suppliers.

NAFDAC further stated that the alert would be uploaded to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Surveillance and Monitoring System (GSMS).
