The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, has called on students to shun social vices capable of affecting their education.
Jatau gave the advice while hosting law students of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, in Lafia on Tuesday.
He said that the importance of education to human and societal development could not be over-emphasised, hence, the need for students to study at all times.
“You must be serious with your studies because you still have another bridge to cross after here, which is the Law School.
“I call on you to shun all social vices in your interest, and in the interest of your education,” he said.
The speaker who commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for the attention he has been giving to the institution, urged him to sustain it.
“The institution was a product of the State House of Assembly, so we will continue to support the institution to succeed,” Jatau said.
Earlier , Mr David Iyazu, a lecturer in the Faculty of Law in the institution, who led the students, said that they were at the Assembly to understand the operations of the house.
