Niger’s army has rescued 50 migrants stranded in the northern desert near the Libyan border, a key transit route for those heading to Europe.
According to a military statement, the migrants—comprising 20 women and 12 children—were left exposed to harsh desert conditions after their vehicle broke down last Friday.
Army units provided aid and assistance to the group in the Djado Plateau, approximately 200 kilometers from Libya’s border, ensuring their safety amid extreme weather.
