Niger Tornadoes Return to Minna After Four Years, Set for Home Match on Sunday
Niger Tornadoes FC is set to resume playing its home matches in Minna after a four-season absence. The club will host Nasarawa United at the newly renovated Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium this Sunday, as part of the ongoing 2024/2025 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
Alhassan Mohammed, Media Officer to the club’s Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Dada, expressed the team’s excitement during an interview with newsmen on Wednesday.
“We are thrilled to return to our home stadium after the extensive renovations led by Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, our biggest supporter. Our NPFL home match against Nasarawa United has been confirmed for this Sunday,” Mohammed said.
He encouraged fans to come out and celebrate the achievement, urging them to support the team while maintaining peace and harmony throughout the event.
Niger Tornadoes had previously played their home matches at Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, due to the inability to meet NPFL standards at the Minna stadium. However, with the renovations now complete, the team is eager to make the stadium their stronghold once again.
