Nigeria Urges Japan to Boost Cooperation in Africa’s Security Solutions
Nigeria’s Foreign Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has called for increased international cooperation in addressing Africa’s escalating security challenges, which threaten the continent’s development.
Speaking at the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) in Japan, Tuggar highlighted terrorism, transnational crimes, and illicit financial flows as major issues undermining Africa’s peace, governance, and investment potential.
He emphasized that Africa remains committed to TICAD’s approach, seeking partnerships to combat security threats that destabilize the region.
Tuggar also urged Japan to collaborate with African leaders in tackling challenges across regions like the Sahel and Lake Chad Basin while advocating qwe reforms at the United Nations Security Council to ensure fair representation for Africa.
