Nigerian Centenarian Endorses Kamala Harris for U.S. Presidency
A 105-year-old Nigerian politician and activist, Nonye Ezeayaeche, has publicly endorsed Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s candidate and current U.S. Vice President, for the upcoming presidential election in November.
Ezeayaeche, who was the oldest presidential candidate in Nigeria’s 2023 General Elections under the African Action Congress, made her endorsement during a news conference in Abuja on Friday.
Praising Harris, Ezeayaeche highlighted her education, experience, and widespread support among women and youth. “Kamala Harris is a brilliant leader with the highest IQ, and I am confident she will become the 47th President of the United States,” she stated.
She also described Harris as a unifier and a corruption-free leader who would strengthen America’s economy and promote global peace and justice. Ezeayaeche, affectionately known as the “great, great, great grandma of Africa,” emphasized that her endorsement is based on merit, not past political affiliations.
“America is destined to be led by an ICON of democracy,” she added, expressing her belief in Harris’s ability to lead the nation to greater heights.
