Lilian Madubulum, a 27-year-old from Anambra State, has set a new marathon dance record, dancing non-stop for an impressive 55 hours and 49 minutes at the Silverbird World of Records Dance-a-thon.
The recent dance marathon, held by Silverbird Group, saw Lilian emerge as the top performer among 24 competitors. Her remarkable endurance and resilience helped her surpass the previous record of 55 hours and 40 minutes, set by renowned dancer Kaffy in 2005 at the Silverbird/Nokia Danceathon, a feat previously recognized by the Guinness World Records.
For her accomplishment, Lilian was awarded a cash prize of 1 million naira. Reflecting on her achievement, she shared, “I wanted to prove wrong those who underestimated me because of my non-athletic physique.”
Jacob Akinyemi Johnson, Chief Creative Officer of Silverbird Group, praised Lilian’s historic performance, stating, “Her achievement embodies the spirit of talent, resilience, and our mission to showcase exceptional Nigerian talent globally. Lilian’s success is an inspiration to countless Nigerians, showing that determination can achieve the impossible.”
The Silverbird Group looks forward to following Lilian’s journey as she continues to inspire through her dedication and hard work.
