The Nigerian government has advised its citizens in Lebanon to leave or relocate to safer areas following escalating Israeli attacks targeting Hezbollah. The advisory was issued on Wednesday by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).
According to NIDCOM, Israel’s military operations in Lebanon have caused significant civilian casualties, with hundreds dead and many displaced. The commission urged Nigerians to take advantage of available commercial flights while they remain operational.
NIDCOM spokesperson Abdulrahman Balogun confirmed that most Nigerians have relocated from southern Lebanon, where the fighting is intense, and are currently safe.
The Israeli military has launched a ground incursion into Lebanon, aiming to neutralize Hezbollah forces. As fighting intensifies, NIDCOM urges Nigerians to remain cautious and safe until a ceasefire is declared.
