Nollywood Actor Zubby Michael Joins ADC 

Popular Nollywood actor Zubby Michael has joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), becoming the latest entertainment figure to venture into Nigerian politics.

The actor, whose real name is Azubuike Michael, officially registered with the party on Saturday in his hometown of Ozubulu. He confirmed the development in a video shared on Instagram, showing him receiving his membership card from a ward official.

In the post, he wrote in pidgin, “I dey my village, enough of the talking online, I don involve,” signalling his transition from commentary to active participation in politics.

While there has been speculation about a possible run for the House of Representatives, Zubby Michael has not formally declared any intention to contest in future elections.

His move reflects a broader trend of Nollywood personalities stepping into the political arena, particularly as Nigeria begins to look ahead to the 2027 general elections.

The ADC, which has recently recorded a surge in membership nationwide, is positioning itself as a major opposition force in the upcoming polls, with more public figures expected to announce affiliations or ambitions in the coming months.
