North Korea Warns of ‘Horrible Disaster’ If South Korean Drones Fly Over Again

North Korea has issued a stark warning to South Korea, threatening a “horrible disaster” if drones from Seoul are detected flying over Pyongyang again. This escalation comes amid rising tensions between the two nations.

Kim Yo-jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, delivered the warning through the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). She accused South Korea of flying unmanned drones over North Korean territory three times this month, vowing “strong retaliatory action” in response.

The warning follows North Korea’s decision to launch trash-filled balloons into South Korea on Saturday, a move it claims was in retaliation for the alleged drone incursions.

“We will take decisive action without concern for who initiated this provocation,” Kim Yo-jong said in her statement.

North Korea’s Foreign Ministry had earlier accused South Korean drones of carrying leaflets and flying over Pyongyang in the past two weeks. While South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun initially denied the allegations, the country’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said they could not confirm the claims.

Pyongyang has made it clear that any future incidents involving South Korean drones would prompt a forceful response, further straining relations between the two countries.
