Marius Borg Høiby, the 28-year-old son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit and stepson to Crown Prince Haakon, has been formally charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault, according to Oslo police.

Authorities revealed that Høiby faces charges related to a “double-digit number” of alleged victims, stemming from a series of accusations made throughout 2024.

“I cannot go into further detail about the number of victims beyond confirming that it is a double-digit number,” said Oslo Police Attorney Andreas Kruszewski.

Høiby has been charged with:

  • One count of rape involving intercourse
  • Two counts of rape without intercourse
  • Four counts of sexual assault
  • Two counts of bodily harm

Investigators say the charges are based on evidence including victim interviews and text message records. Høiby, once affectionately known in the media as “Little Marius,” has previously struggled with cocaine addiction, a history that has drawn public attention.

His lawyer, Petar Sekulic, confirmed that Høiby is cooperating with authorities. “He is absolutely taking the accusations very seriously,” Sekulic said. However, he added that Høiby “doesn’t acknowledge any wrongdoing in most of the cases — especially those regarding sexual abuse and violence.”

Høiby, who grew up alongside the crown prince’s children, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus, no longer lives in the royal household but resides in a nearby residence. The palace has declined to comment on the matter, stating it will allow the legal process to run its course.

Høiby remains free while awaiting a possible trial.

His biological father, Morton Borg, has a criminal history, including convictions for drug-related and violent offenses.

The case continues to develop as Norwegian authorities prepare for potential court proceedings.
