Sen. Ned Nwoko (APC-Delta) on Thursday felicitated with the global Christian community on the celebration of Christmas, describing the season as one of profound significance.

Nwoko representing Delta North Senatorial District, said this in his Christmas goodwill message made available to newsmen Abuja.

According to him, the season is of profound significance, not only for Christians but for humanity at large.

“This is given the graceful spiritual and moral symbolism embodied in the life of Jesus Christ.”

He noted that the sacred birth of Christ more than 2,000 years ago heralded an extraordinary life whose influence had continued to shape the world across generations.

The lawmaker, who during the week distributed over one thousand bags of rice and other gifts to communities across Delta North and beyond, also described Christmas as a “fiesta of glory and veneration”.

Nwoko urged Christians and all Nigerians to use the festive season to embrace the enduring virtues of love, peace, unity, and shared purpose, which Christ represented.

He further called for consistent demonstration of tolerance, forgiveness, openness, and empathy, noting that these values remained essential to peaceful coexistence among a people created by one God, irrespective of religious, ethnic, or social differences.

“Christmas is a glorious celebration. It symbolises not only the nativity of Jesus Christ, but also the essence of his divine mission as Prince of peace.

“I rejoice with Christians across Nigeria, Delta, and Anioma land in particular on this joyful occasion.

“On behalf of my family and political associates, I wish all Nigerians boundless joy this Yuletide season. Merry Christmas,” he said.
