Mr Ibrahim Adigun, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter, has applauded the relentless efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu toward infrastructural renewal across the country.
Adigun, an Engineer, gave the commendation in celebration of the temporary opening of Section One of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, covering the Ahmadu Bello Way Junction through Eleko Village Junction.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the opening event was held on Friday at Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Adigun told NAN on Saturday that he mobilised young individuals drawn from across the 57 local branches of NYCN in Lagos to the coastal highway project.
He said that was not only a testament to President Tinubu’s commitment to modern infrastructure but also a catalyst for economic transformation, youth empowerment, and regional connectivity.
He stressed that the project would boost commerce, open new corridors for opportunities, and enhance the overall ease of movement for Nigerians.
“The youth umbrella body is proud to witness the historic milestone, expressing optimism that subsequent phases of the project will continue at a rapid pace.
“Projects like this can only be undertaken by an audacious government with foresight and strong will-power. It is a project that is far-reaching in terms of economic benefits in the short and long term.
“We are proud to bear witness to the opening of this first phase and we can attest to the impressive quality of the project.
“I will like to congratulate the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Works, for this remarkable feat.
“I also want to thank the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement, Hon. Moremi Ojudu for facilitating our presence here,” the youth leader said.
Adigun reaffirmed the youth body’s readiness to collaborate with government at all levels on youth-centered initiatives, adding that infrastructural development of this scale remained a vital pathway to national growth and job creation.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
