Omah Lay to Headline Inaugural Motherland Festival on December 20 in Lagos
Afro-fusion star Omah Lay will headline the maiden edition of the Motherland Festival, set to hold in Lagos from December 18 to 20, with his performance scheduled for December 20.
Billed as one of Lagos’ most innovative new festivals, Motherland Festival aims to bring together global thought leaders, creative innovators and cultural ambassadors for three days of music, art and immersive experiences.
Omah Lay’s headline appearance comes on the back of a successful year for the singer, who recently earned his first Grammy nomination following his collaboration with Davido on “With You.” The song has also been named Nigeria’s most-streamed track on Spotify.
The co-founders of the festival expressed excitement over securing the singer for the event, noting that Motherland Festival will host Omah Lay’s only Lagos performance in December.
“We’re excited that Omah Lay chose the Motherland stage as his only Lagos show this December,” they said. “Fans from around the world will have the chance to celebrate a remarkable year for him at the heart of Afro-fusion and Afrobeats.”
Omah Lay will perform alongside a diverse lineup including Seyi Vibez, The Cavemen, OdumoduBlvck, Qing Madi, Mavo, DJ Obi and other notable acts.
The Motherland Festival is sponsored by First Bank and will take place at the Motherland Grounds, located beside the Oriental Hotel in Lagos.
