One Dead, Several Injured in Shooting at New Hampshire Country Club Wedding

A man was killed and several others injured on Saturday night when a gunman opened fire at a wedding reception inside a New Hampshire country club, police said.

The shooting occurred at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, about 45 miles northwest of Boston. Aerial images showed emergency responders at the scene, while ambulances were stationed outside a nearby hotel serving as a reunification center.

Police said a single male suspect entered the venue and fired multiple shots before being taken into custody. Witnesses reported that the country club was hosting a wedding while other guests were dining in its restaurant when the attack began.

New Hampshire congresswoman Maggie Goodlander said she was “closely monitoring the tragic reports,” adding that her “heart is with the victims, their families, and the entire community.”

At a news briefing, Peter Hinkley, senior assistant attorney general of New Hampshire, said:
“People don’t think things like this happen on a Saturday night in Nashua in New Hampshire.”

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the suspect or victims. The investigation remains ongoing.

Nashua, just across the Massachusetts border, has twice been ranked the “Best Place to Live in America” by Money magazine.
