Vishwas, the sole survivor of the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, has been seen in a heart-wrenching moment carrying the coffin of his younger brother, Ajay, who died in the same disaster.

Hailed as a miracle survivor, Vishwas had been seated in 11A — a window seat next to the emergency exit — which allowed him to crawl out of the wreckage after the aircraft slammed into a residential building shortly after takeoff. A video later surfaced showing him walking dazed into the street moments after the crash.

Ajay, his brother, was seated on the opposite side of the same row in seat 11J and did not survive the explosion.

Speaking with DD News, Vishwas recounted the horrifying experience:
“I saw people dying in front of my eyes – the air hostesses, and two people I saw near me… I walked out of the rubble.”

He also described the moments leading up to the crash:
“When the flight took off, within five to 10 seconds, it felt like it was stuck in the air. Suddenly, the lights started flickering – green and white. The aircraft wasn’t gaining altitude and was just gliding before it suddenly slammed into a building and exploded.”

Vishwas’ survival has drawn nationwide attention, including a visit from India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who offered his condolences and praised his courage in the face of unimaginable loss.

A solemn video from Ajay’s funeral has circulated widely, showing Vishwas carrying his brother’s coffin — a powerful symbol of grief and survival that has resonated deeply with the nation.
