Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has surpassed Segun Odegbami to become Nigeria’s second-highest goal scorer after netting twice against Rwanda in a 2026 World Cup qualifier.
Heading into the match, Osimhen and Odegbami were tied at 23 goals. However, the Napoli loanee broke the deadlock early in the game, converting a free-kick cross from Ademola Lookman. His second goal came just before halftime when he dribbled past Rwanda’s defense and slotted the ball past the goalkeeper, bringing his international tally to 25 goals.
With this milestone, Osimhen moves closer to Nigeria’s all-time top scorer, Rashidi Yekini, who holds the record with 37 goals.
