Pakistan Extends Airspace Ban on Indian Flights by One Month
Pakistan has extended its airspace closure for Indian airlines and aircraft for another month, according to a new notice issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority.
The Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), released on Saturday, confirms that Indian commercial flights, along with Indian-registered aircraft, will remain barred from entering Pakistani airspace until the 23rd of next month.
The extended ban also applies to all Indian-owned or leased military and civilian aircraft.
While the notice did not specify a reason for the continued restriction, tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors have led to airspace closures in the past, often triggered by political or military escalations.
The ongoing closure may impact flight times and operational costs for Indian airlines operating westward routes. There has been no official response yet from Indian aviation authorities.
