Pakistani Embassy in Türkiye Marks 78th Independence Day with Unity and Celebration
The Pakistani Embassy in Türkiye commemorated Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day on Wednesday with a series of events that highlighted the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye, while celebrating the themes of unity and resilience.
The festivities began with the playing of the national anthems of both countries, followed by a captivating performance by Pakistani singers who serenaded the audience with songs in Urdu.
In his keynote address, Ambassador Numan Aslan spoke on the historical significance of Pakistan’s independence in 1947, emphasizing the challenges faced by the young nation under the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He praised Pakistan’s progress in various fields, including science, technology, and the arts, attributing this growth to the resilience of the Pakistani people in overcoming natural disasters, economic hurdles, and social issues.
Ambassador Aslan also expressed deep appreciation for Türkiye’s steadfast support, characterizing the bilateral relationship as “outstanding, excellent, historical, and remarkable.”
The event also featured remarks from British Consul General Kenan Poleo, who acknowledged the strong ties between the Pakistani community in the UK and Pakistan. He expressed his honor at being part of the celebration, reinforcing the global connections Pakistan maintains.
Ali Erdogan, Deputy Mayor of Bagcilar Municipality, lauded the deep solidarity between Türkiye and Pakistan, predicting that their relationship will continue to strengthen. He highlighted the shared history of mutual support during critical moments such as the Canakkale War and the Turkish War of Independence, symbolized by the naming of prominent avenues in Islamabad and Ankara after Kemal Atatürk and Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The celebration served as a reminder of the strong bonds between the two nations, with promises of continued collaboration and friendship in the years to come.
