A Korean Air flight from Bangkok to Incheon, South Korea, experienced a moment of panic after a passenger attempted to open the emergency exit door mid-flight. Dramatic footage shows the man being subdued by flight attendants as he grabbed the door latch.

The incident occurred on Korean Air flight KE658, which was carrying 238 passengers on an Airbus A330-300. The unidentified man reportedly sat in a crew seat without permission. When a flight attendant asked him to return to his assigned seat, he became confrontational and allegedly threatened her, prompting the crew to take immediate action.

Video captured the tense moments as flight attendants restrained the man, who had been acting aggressively. The crew successfully moved him to a separate area to calm down, ensuring the safety of other passengers.

The flight landed safely and on schedule at Incheon International Airport at 4:45 a.m., where the suspect was handed over to airport police for investigation.

In a statement, Korean Air affirmed its commitment to safety, stating: “The incident was managed according to our established security protocols to prioritize passenger safety and operational integrity. We will cooperate fully with authorities in the investigation of this matter. Korean Air maintains a zero-tolerance approach to behaviors that compromise aviation safety.”

Authorities are now investigating the incident under Korea’s Aviation Security Act, which could result in legal consequences for the suspect if he is found to have violated air safety regulations.
